Vaser Lipo to Remove a Double Chin
Sometimes, even after lifestyle modifications (otherwise known as dieting) your weight loss is evident on other areas of your body, but your double chin hangs on stubbornly. Some people have tried facial exercises, with some measure of success. Others may see no change at all. Again, this can make Vaser lipo a very attractive option to finally reach the holy grail of sporting one chin only.
The answer to why you have a double chin may be in your genes- it’s a family trait. If this is the case, contouring of this area may be an attractive option, as no matter what you do, the fat is highly unlikely to budge from this area.
Vaser lipo is often the tool of choice for a surgeon to remove a double chin, as the Vaser allows for small areas to be sculpted.
What happens during facial liposuction with Vaser?
The surgeon will first numb up the under-chin area with local anesthetic. Then he will make a tiny incision just under the chin. This incision point is usually very small, and becomes practically invisible when it has healed up. The thin Vaser probe is inserted under the skin into the fat layer to be sculpted away. The machine is switched on, and ultrasound pulses break up the fat under your chin. The surgeon carefully moves the probe around, sculpting away until he is happy you have a contoured, smooth profile. Then the fat is suctioned out. The surgeon may suture the incision site, or sometimes it is covered with a steri-strip to allow for drainage.
Vaser liposuction has major advantages over traditional facial liposuction, as the ultrasound energy only targets the fat layer. Other structures such as blood vessels are not damaged by the ultrasound energy, so there is far less bruising and swelling. This reduced trauma to the area means you will have a quicker healing time. You will have some swelling and possibly some bruising, but this is usually minor. Any of these side effects will usually subside within a few days.
You will probably be advised to wear a compression garment for some time after your procedure. This is to minimize swelling, to aid the healing process, and to encourage skin tightening.
The Vaser Lipo procedure to remove a double chin usually only takes about an hour. Healing is usually complete within 14 days. And you get to enjoy the results for years to come!

Get The Answers to the Most Asked Questions About Vaser Lipo
Thinking about having some Vaser Lipo done? Got some concerns? Still have some niggling worries that are preventing you from taking the plunge and getting a little closer to the kind of body that you have been dreaming of?
Then this article is the best thing you can read to have all those questions answered and make the decision to either have that Vaser Lipo or not for definite once and for all.
Taking all the main concerns and general queries that people have about Vaser Lipo, this article lists the top 8 questions with answers to match covering all you need to know about the subject in one quick and easy shot.
Let’s begin…
How Much Does it Cost?
Vaser Lipo like many things in life can vary in terms of cost and like many things in life you have to be careful that you are not being overcharged for your Vaser Lipo. It is recommended that you do your research well.
However, as a little guideline to help you along the way, if you were planning to have treatment done on your abdominals, flanks and inner thighs, you could expect to be paying within the region of about ,000 – ,000.
This is a big gap and shows you just how much it pays to do some research and ask around. Treatment costs do vary.
What is Vaser?
Vaser is a type of liposuction using ultrasonic technology which means it uses ultrasonic energy (high-energy sound waves) to emulsify fat. That means it turns your fat from a solid form into liquid and then the fat in its liquid form can be sucked out of your body with ease.
The good thing about Vaser is that it disrupts fat cells but not blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue and is as a result less traumatic than other forms of liposuction.
How Long Does the Swelling Last?
If you’re genuinely worried or the swelling seems abnormal, contact your surgeon immediately. They will be able to determine if there is a cause for concern. However try not to be alarmed as some swelling is expected after treatment up to 4 months after your procedure.
It may be a good idea to limit some of your activities in order to heal a little quicker. Compression garments prescribed by your surgeon can also be used to help speed up the process.
Will I Have Tighter Skin Afterwards?
Yes. In a medical study in 2010, Vaser liposuction was performed on one leg in 20 female patients and traditional liposuction was performed on the other leg. There was a 53% improvement in skin tightening on the leg that had Vaser liposuction compared to the other leg.
When Will I See Results?
In almost every case, you should see a visible and noticeable improvement immediately. Vaser technique is associated with less swelling and bruising than other options, but some does still occur, and it will take between 1 and 3 months for this to completely subside
What Areas Does it Work Best on?
Vaser can be used all over the body but results are best in three areas. All of these areas share the characteristic of having dense, tough, fibrous fatty tissue that is hard for other types of liposuction to treat. The first area is to treat male breasts. The second is flanks or love handles, especially in thinner patients, men, and Asian women who tend to have more fibrous fat that is difficult to suction with other methods. The third is any area that has previously been treated with any kind of liposuction is best treated the second time with Vaser. It is very good at dislodging fat from the scar of the initial procedure.
Will I Gain Weight Afterwards?
Most people generally don’t gain weight if they maintain a healthy lifestyle including watching a diet and sticking with a basic exercise program. You only have a certain number of fat cells. You don’t grow more fat cells, the cells just get bigger when you put on weight. If you have had VASER in an area, then you should have less fat cells in the area that had received treatment. If you were to put on weight, you would distribute the fat in other areas more than the area of liposuction.
What are Common Side Effects?
Generally speaking, the best candidate for any form of liposuction is a person who is in good shape, but has a problem area that persists regardless of weight and level of physical activity.
The side effects are very similar to other forms of ultrasonic liposuction can include swelling, bruising, and some drainage. However, the benefits are unmatched. This procedure not only selectively removes the fat and gives you the chiseled look, but it also greatly tightens the skin.

Vaser Lipo Frequently Asked Questions
Here at Riverbanks, prospective patients ask many questions about Vaser Liposuction, so we’ve put together this FAQ to answer the ones asked most.
What is VASER Liposuction?
VASER Liposuction is a highly sophisticated alternative to traditional liposuction. It uses ultrasound technology to emulsify the fat in your body. By turning the fat into a liquid, the fat can be easily removed from the body using a suction cannula.
The technique selectively removes fat without damaging blood vessels, nerves and tissue. As a result of this, it creates far less trauma to the body and reduces the recovery times.
VASER Liposuction can be used in many areas of the body, including the back, the abdomen, breasts and other areas that were previously difficult to sculpt with traditional methods.
Is VASER Lipo better than Smart Lipo?
It’s not a matter of ‘better’ per se; they are very different methods of removing fat from the body. Smart Lipo has some advantages over traditional liposuction, but VASER works differently in the way that it removes the fat and has more advantages than convention lipo and Smart laser solutions.
Simply put, Smart Lipo uses a laser to break up the fat, whereas VASER Lipo uses ultrasound technology. VASER Lipo has demonstrated excellent recovery times, because it does not damage blood vessels, nerves or connective tissues when it is melting the fat.
VASER Lipo is performed under local anaesthesia and greatly reduce risk and recovery times, compared with traditional liposuction.
What can I expect during VASER LipoSelection recovery?
In our experience, patients recover much faster when they have VASER LipoSelection, compared with patients that have experienced traditional liposuction. Unlike conventional liposuction, VASER patients are able to get light exercise within a few days and are fully back to normal within two weeks. Of course, they should keep their dressings on for the full six weeks.
Because VASER is only minimally invasive, and tackles only your body fat, it reduces the trauma to the body, so pain is reduced. This means you will not need to take strong painkillers or numbing medications.
What’s the difference between Liposuction, Liposculture and Liposelection?
These are all marketing terms used within the cosmetic treatment industry for similar products.
‘Liposuction’ is simply the term used for the frequently performed surgical procedure that removes unwanted fat from the body using a suction system.
‘LipoSelection’ is a trade term that is associated with VASER, the advanced ultrasound technology that emulsifies body fat. Unlike traditional liposuction methods, it can be used on densely fibrous areas such as the back.
‘Liposculpture’ is the term used for the technique of using superficial liposuction technology to define the patient’s muscles.
How does VASER Liposelection differ from normal liposuction?
Liposuction has been around for about the last 35 years. Originally plastic surgeons used small cuts in the patient’s skin to suck away large amounts of unwanted fat. Before this, the only way to remove fat was to cut it out, which left horrible, unsightly scarring.
More recently a system of liposuction that uses sophisticated ultrasound technology has been introduced. This is known as VASER Liposuction, or ‘Liposelection’ as it is sometimes known by its trade term.
VASER Lipo breaks down the fatty tissue in the body by using ultrasound. This turns it into a liquid and it is drained away using a cannula. Because VASER uses a non-invasive technology to liquefy the fat, it does not damage any other surrounding nerves or tissue. This means that there is far less bruising and swelling than conventional liposuction.
Will I have tighter skin after using VASER LipoSelection?
VASER is a medical device that uses ultrasound technology to liquefy the fat cells, with much less damage to surround tissues than traditional methods of liposuction. Those clinicians using VASER Lipo say that it does increase the tightening of the skin and reduces the amount of loose skin that follows conventional lipo. The results of VASER LipoSelection include a smoother skin and greater body contouring.
What are the possible risks or side effects of VASER?
It’s a reasonable question, should you be concerned about the risks or the potential side effects? VASER is now known as a safer, less invasive form of lipo and we’ve yet to find a patient that regretted undergoing this terrific new procedure.
The side effects can include swelling, bruising and some fat drainage during the recovery period. But because VASER uses ultrasound technology, it does not damage the surrounding tissues and therefore, patients do not have to put up with the same level of pain, swelling and bruising that normal liposuction causes.
Which areas of the body does VASER Liposelection work best on?
Cosmetic physicians have achieved great success using VASER ultrasound technology to remove emulsified fat from many different areas of the body. We have had excellent success removing unwanted fatty tissue from the following areas:
Abdomen, Thighs, Knees, Buttocks, Hips, Arms, Male Breast Area, Love Handles, Chin and Neck areas.
However, due to the safe, non-invasive method that VASER uses, we perceive that it can be used on practically any area of the body where unwanted fat is stored.
How long will it take to see the results of VASER Liposelection?
You will see immediate results, although there is a minor amount of swelling for about a week after the procedure. When the swelling reduces and any bruising clears up, the results will become clear. Within the six months after the VASER lipo treatment, the collagen in the skin will grow and the skin surrounding the area will tighten to fit your next sculpted shape.
Are the results of VASER lipo permanent?
Let’s be clear about the type of results that you are seeking. Liposuction or LipoSelection are not for weight loss. They reduce the amount of body fat by emulsifying the existing fat and draining it out of the body as a liquid.
Those patients that are significantly disappointed with any kind of lipo procedure are those that put on considerable weight after their treatment. Remember, when you lose fat through lipo treatments, you can still put the weight back on. You should combine any treatment with a healthy diet and exercise regime for the greatest future success.

The Tumescent Technique and VASER? Lipo System
The Tumescent Technique and VASER® Lipo System
The Tumescent Technique
Tumescent means to become swollen. Tumescent liposuction involves the use of a diluted solution made up of epinephrine and lidocaine. This solution is injected into the fat underneath the skin, causing the area to swell and firm up. (*The surgeon then uses a small surgical instrument to suction away the excess fatty deposits).
History
The Tumescent Technique was developed in 1985 by Dr. Jeffrey A. Klien, M.D., a dermatologist from California. Prior to 1985, liposuction was quite a bit more risky, often causing so much blood loss that patients frequently required a blood transfusion. Vasoconstriction, resulting from the dilute epinephrine used in the Tumescent Technique, has virtually eliminated blood loss during the liposuction procedure. This method is now considered the safest, most effective form of liposuction.
Benefits
Tumescent liposuction can significantly reduce some of the common side effects of older procedures. The epinephrine/lidocaine solution temporarily reduces the size of the capillaries, which results in significantly less blood loss. The majority of patients only lose about 15-30 ml of blood. It also helps reduce pain, bruising, and swelling post-surgery.
Risks Ideal Candidate
This surgery is not meant as a substitute for weight loss. The ideal candidate should have already achieved an ideal body weight and have elastic and firm skin. The procedure is most effective on a few problem areas which are difficult to eliminate with diet and exercise alone.
Dr. Klien’s discovery has significantly reduced the risks associated with liposuction. The Tumescent Technique has eliminated the need for blood transfusions common in older forms of liposuction procedures. In addition, these surgeries do not require hospitalization and general anesthesia is not used. Patients now recover faster, experience less pain, and receive optimal cosmetic results. The Tumescent Technique is the safest liposuction technique available, and has now become the world-wide standard of care.
VASER® Lipo System
By combining the Tumescent Technique with the VASER® Lipo System, patients can anticipate fast, consistent results and a quick recovery. This system is the only one available with the ability to differentiate between the targeted fat and the surrounding tissue, which means the surgeon can safely break up the unwanted fat while preserving the connective tissue, nerves, and blood vessels.
VASER® stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance. It was designed by Sound Surgical Technologies, LLC and received FDA clearance for body contouring in 2002. Although fairly new, this procedure is comparatively safe with thousands performed worldwide without serious complications.
How It Works
First, the tumescent fluid is injected into the fatty tissue around the area to be suctioned. The VASER® system then uses ultrasonic waves to cause the fat cells to break apart and emulsify. This allows for easy removal of the fat using either a cannula or a massage.
Areas That Can Be Treated
This technique can be used anywhere where there are small pockets of extra fat. The most common areas include: abdominals, thighs, knees, buttocks, arms, love handles, breasts, hips, back, neck and chin.
Amount of Fat That Can Be Removed
It is important to remember that liposuction is not a substitute for weight loss. The amount of fat that can typically be removed is equivalent to the amount of loose hanging fat you could grab on your belly if you stood up and bent forward. Some fat in the area is left untreated, so with significant weight gain this remaining fat will expand. It is important to maintain healthy eating and exercise habits in order to retain optimal results.
Results
As with all cosmetic surgeries, results will vary per patient. Most patients start to see results immediately; however, final results may not be seen for up to 6 months. Results vary depending on the amount of fat removed and the number of sites treated.
Ideal Candidate
Again, this is not a substitute for weight loss. The ideal candidate is at a healthy weight seeking to treat stubborn areas difficult to lose with diet and exercise alone.

Why is Vaser Lipo Such a Good Option?
For a procedure that is barely a decade old Vaser Lipo is amazingly popular. There are many reasons why a person looking to getting a trimmer figure would want to opt for Vaser Lipo. Ever wondered why it is that some people keep tucking into all kinds of food and yet remain svelte? And there are others who eat skimpily to still look comfortably rotund. Sometimes an uncooperative genetic pattern may be responsible for a person just looking at food and gaining weight. The best way to have a healthy weight and maintain it is to eat several very small meals during the day, drink plenty of water to sluice one’s system and get adequate exercise.
A very obese person should not expect that Vaser Liposuction will actually help adequate quantities of fat to become significantly less morbidly obese. Again it is neither desirable nor practicable to try and shed 50-70 kgs in a very short period or through Vaser Lipo. A foodie who loves to gorge upon all kinds of delectable items at the dinner table should not try to shed all that accumulated adipose tissue through Vaser Liposuction. All said and done Vaser Lipo is an excellent option for someone who eats a well-balanced diet and exercises regularly but cannot shed fat in certain resistant pockets like the chin or the knee.
Vaser Lipo will work very effectively on common areas like the waist, stomach, buttocks, and chest/breasts. What makes it so special is that it will also sculpt specific areas like the neck, knees, ankles, and other less common but more sensitive areas that occasionally need a little trimming that exercise just won’t be able to target. There are certain types of liposuction which are good for only general areas of the body. Suppose you have very heavy arms and would like to see them shapely. Vaser Lipo can help de-bulk your arms of the subcutaneous fat; but you will also need to get a skin excision done afterwards to tighten up the loose skin.

Â
Importance of VASER surgery
Â
VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) Liposuction surgery is very popular and preferred by many overweight people. One of the major reasons of its popularity is its safe approach with minimal effects. The best part is that the procedure is comparatively painless and patients remain in full sense during the operation. It is also a common practice that patients walk in for the operation, undergo the procedure and then simply walk out.
Â
Thanks to the improved and specific technique of VASER, which keeps pain and uneasiness to an absolute minimum level and you will have no definite feeling while undergoing the procedure. However, after some hours of completion, some discomfort and minor bruise will surface, as the body will start to adjust and recover.
Â
Why belly fat is dangerous
Â
Belly fat is a curse for overweight or obese people and even for those who have a slightly higher BMI (Body Mass Index). A flabby belly is as harmful as a pack of cigarettes for people having coronary artery disease such as obstructed or clogged coronary arteries. Even with a healthy and normal BMI, the person has a higher risk of death owing to its high waist-to-hip ratio and large waist circumference.
Â
As per the research published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, it is better to be pear-shaped than being apple-shaped. In case of a pear-shape body, fat deposits are mainly located in the hips, thighs and buttocks whereas in an apple-shaped body, the fat is situated mainly in the middle. The study was conducted on around 15,000 patients residing in Denmark, United States, South Korea and France. The study revealed that rather than the amount of fat, where one carries it is a matter of more importance.
Â
According to the study’s lead author, Thais Coutinho, cardiologist at Mayo Clinic, people should keep their waists in shape instead of believing the BMI blindly. If the waists of the people affected with coronary artery disease have extra fat in their midsections, they are at high risk. Above 40 inches for men and 35 inches for women is considered to be dangerous. For a fit and healthy body, the ideal waist-to-hip ratio should be 0.95 for men and 0.8 for women.
Â
How to treat belly fat
Â
Body Clinics having advanced equipments and technologies to do the VASER Liposuction procedures are the best option. Before and after the treatment, you must get personalized service from the trained doctors. The doctors must ensure that the clients achieve their desired body size and shape in a hassle-free manner.
VASER Lipo Pre-operative Instructions – Important Things You Must Know
VASER or Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance is an easy way to remove the unwanted fat from the human body. The process uses ultrasound energy to liquefy the fat before it is taken out through liposuction gently. This process is more comfortable than other forms of conventional liposuction and produces effective results even in unconventional areas.
Â
VASER Liposuction is a very easy process and patients can even go back home in the same evening. This process is also effective in case of revision surgeries.
Â
The VASER Lipo procedure
Â
The best body clinics offer free consultation with cosmetic surgeons before you go for the treatment. You will get to know every little detail about the treatment process including the pros and the precautions.
Â
During the treatment phase the process generally involves the measuring of the area for pressure garments and some important tests. Once these are finished, a pre-anaesthetic check up is done to confirm all anaesthetic problems. After that, you will be given a date for the surgery.
Â
The surgery procedure of VASER liposuction starts with marking of the area of treatment. Then anaesthesia is induced after which the process of liposuction is carried on. The entire process ends with the wearing of pressure garments.
Â
How the sound waves act
Â
VASER uses sound waves to liquefy the fat. The waves of sound as it passes the fat cells, makes them expand and contract. When the surface tension of the cells increases, they break and liquefy the fat cells without damaging any surrounding nerves and blood vessel.
Â
Eight important Pre-operative instructions
Â
Before you head for VASER lipo, here are certain things that you must keep in mind:
Â
[1] You must never take aspirin or any aspirin related products two weeks before the surgery. Aspirin has a tendency to affect the clotting ability of blood and thus increases your chances of bleeding post or during the surgery.
[2] Don’t smoke for two weeks before the surgery as it decreases the healing time as well as blood circulation
[3] Limit your intake of alcohol as much as possible for five days before you go for the surgery. Alcohol increases the chances of bruising and increase complications as well.
[4] Take a shower with antibacterial soap on the day of surgery.
[5] If you develop fever, facial sore, cold or any other kind of illness before the surgery, you must inform it to the surgeon.
[6] Do not carry any jewellery or any other accessories to the surgery table.
[7] You must wear comfortable loose fitting dark clothes on the day of surgery along with slip-on shoes for post-operative comfort.
[8] Be prepared to stay at the treatment facility for longer.
Â
Pre-surgical tests involved
Â
It is compulsory to under go certain tests like blood test to record the trace of hepatogram, hemogram, creatinin, blood sugar, serology HIV and clotting time. Along with blood test, a cardiology test is also conducted to determine if any surgical risk that the patient is facing.

Find Out All About VASER Lipo Procedure
‘Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance’ or VASER Liposuction is an advanced body sculpting process that involves removal of unwanted and stubborn fat deposits from your body. The process of targeting specific fatty areas throughout the body is known as Liposelection. It uses a minimally invasive technique to gently break apart and remove unwanted fat. This is done by means of advanced ultrasonic energy. The procedure is gentle enough to treat delicate body areas and at the same time, is powerful enough to spot large fatty areas.
VASER Lipo can be used on body areas such as chin, face, neck, arms, back, chest, hips, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, calves, knees and other areas. It enables the removal of large volumes of fat within a short period of time. Therefore, it is suitable for both larger and smaller body areas.
In 2001, this innovative technique received the approval of FDA as a Body Contouring Process. Since then, it has been widely used by several cosmetic and plastic surgeons throughout the world. In comparison to traditional method of Liposuction, VASER Lipo is a safer option. Unlike Traditional Liposuction, VASER Lipo involves removal of more fat, quicker recovery, less bruising and better skin tightening.
Usually, VASER Lipo is performed in a sterile or clean environment such as a hospital, body clinic or outdoor surgery center. As per your convenience, doctors can prescribe whether to opt for IV sedation, local anesthesia or general anesthesia.
The Process
The tissue-selective procedure involves various steps. Firstly, the targeted fatty area is injected with a ‘tumescent fluid’, which is a special saline solution. The fluid is capable of shrinking the local blood vessels and numbing the area. It is capable of expanding the targeted area’s volume for a temporary period, making the removal of the fat cells easier and ensuring lower risk of blood loss and bruising. Then, small incisions are made into the body in between the layer of muscle and skin, through which small diameter probes are inserted. The high frequency ultrasound waves transmitted through the probes helps in loosening the fat cells while keeping the connective tissues, nerves and blood vessels undisturbed. The loose fat cells get mixed with the tumescent fluid and are gently removed from the body by means of special suction tubes or cannula. Depending on the number of areas to be treated, the VASER Lipo procedure takes around one hour to several hours.
Recovery and Effect
After the surgical procedure, a recovery regimen is prescribed to the patients to encourage smooth results and maximum skin retraction. A tight bandage or special compression garment is provided to enhance the contouring effects and promote healing process. Usually, a 12 hours rest is advised and there are restrictions regarding performance of any kind of strenuous activity for a period of two to three weeks. For speedy recovery and enhanced results, massage therapy are also recommended by some physicians.
Though you can observe a change instantly after the VASER Lipo procedure, the result is likely to improve with time and healing of the treatment area. A period of about three to four months is required to observe the final results of the procedure. It will provide a natural-looking result and make the muscles appear more defined.
Requirement of a Consultation
Before availing this method, you are advised to visit a doctor and talk about the pros and cons of VASER Liposuction. The doctor will assess your body and then decide how much fat is required to be taken out. The best thing about this process is multiple areas can be treated at one time.
You should not consider VASER Lipo to be equivalent to a weight loss process. This process only aims at providing a slimmer silhouette. With maintaining a sensible lifestyle and diet, the results can be maintained for a long time. So, those wanting to shed those extra fat deposits should avail the option of VASER Liposuction without any delay.
Liposuction : VASER, Laser, Tumescent Liposuction Overview
Cosmetic Surgery Medical Tourism Philippines: Post-Op Care and Instructions before and after undergoing Liposuction
Laser Liposuction / SMART Lipo
Liposuction is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures worldwide by certified cosmetic plastic surgeons. The three most commonly performed techniques are the tumescent or superwet liposuction, Ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty and Laser or SMART Liposuction. The tumescent or super-wet technique requires an infusion of saline solution mixed with adrenaline to facilitate the aspiration or removal of excess fat. Ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty uses ultrasonic energy that liquefies the fat prior to surgical suctioning. While Laser or SMART liposuction is quite similar with ultrasound assisted technique in which fats is initially dissolve and then aspirated. There was a sudden increase in demand for SMART/Laser liposuction and Ultrasound lipoplasty when this was introduced in the market because it was believed to have more superior results than the traditional method. However, in our experience, the advantage that Laser Liposuction offers patients are improved pain control after surgery and body swelling is significantly less compared to the traditional tumescent technique. With regards to the result, all the 3 techniques are just the same. There is no superiority of one method over the other in attaining a pleasing body contour.
Whether the procedure will be performed as an Out-Patient or as a hospital procedure, preoperative laboratory and medical clearance (For patient 40 y/o and above, Medical condition that required treatment) is required. This is done a day before the surgery. The procedure can be performed either under local anesthesia or deep sedation depending on the extent of the procedure. After the procedure, incision site will soak for 2 to 3 days and eventually dries on the 4th to 5th day. All patients are instructed to strictly apply or wear pressure garments for 2 to 3 weeks at all body parts addressed by liposuction. The pressure garment will help the skin redrape to underlying muscles thus obliterating the space left after aspirating the fat and also control the swelling. This will assist and enhance the healing process. Sutures are removed on the 7th or 9th day after surgery.
Patients are always advised that there will be swelling and some bruising after the surgery. This is temporary and may resolve after 1 to 2 weeks. The initial result may be noted after 2 to 4 weeks since much of the swelling had subsided. However, the final result will be appreciated by the 2nd to 6th month after surgery. Patients are advised to avoid the following for 2 to 3 weeks before surgery; smoking, alcoholic beverages, steroids, NSAIDs or pain medications like mefenamic acids and naproxen, herbal tea, herbal medications, Vitamin E, blood thinning medications like aspirin, heparin and coumadin, regulated drugs like valium, prohibited drugs like methamphetamines, diet pills and oral contraceptive pills. These medications and social activity may delay healing, prolong bleeding during surgery and may interact with the medications used during surgery. It is advised that patients discuss this further with their surgeon to minimize possible risks and complications.
Patients planning to have this procedure will be required to allot 8 to 14 days for the initial consultation, laboratory, medical clearance, surgery, follow up, suture removal and early recuperation. After this, the patient is safe to travel since all wounds are already dry and healed. Cosmetic Philippines staff will explain in detail the risks associated with surgery. You will be asked to sign consent forms to ensure that you fully understand the procedure you will undergo and any risks or potential complications.
The practice of medicine and surgery is not an exact science. Although good results are expected, there is no guarantee. In some situations, it may not be possible to achieve optimal results with a single surgical procedure. Another surgery may be necessary. The decision to have liposuction is extremely personal and you’ll have to decide if the benefits will achieve your goals and if the risks and potential complications are acceptable.
