The Ins and Outs of Laser Eye Treatment

macular degeneration

At one point or the other, we will all eventually need to wear eyeglasses, especially as our eyes age along with us. Some people may need eyeglasses at an earlier age compared to others to treat astigmatism as well as near or far sightedness. There are also those who prefer to wear contact lenses instead of eyeglasses since it is more comfortable and convenient for them. Either way, these are just some of the eye conditions which can be treated with the use of lasers.

What Is Laser Eye Surgery

In a nutshell, laser eye treatment or surgery is a procedure in which the cornea of the patient is reshaped in order to give the patient a clearer vision. The use of laser has proven to be effective not only in giving a patient clear vision, but also to help treat issues such as those developed through diabetes. A lot of patients prefer this procedure over traditional methods in treating eye conditions as it is painless, quick, and takes only a little time to heal. It is also non invasive and patients do not need to have any cuts or stitches once the treatment is carried out and completed. After a day or two of rest, patients can go back to their normal daily routines. What makes laser eye treatment increasingly popular is the fact that the results people get after the treatment is permanent. There are cases however when some patients will have to wear reading glasses in order to read the newspaper or see small print but other than that, the rest of their vision will be fine.

Preparing for Laser Surgery

Not everybody can have laser eye treatment, which is why patients need to first see an eye doctor and determine if they are a good candidate for the said treatment. The eye doctor will conduct a series of tests to evaluate if a patient can have laser eye treatment. Factors such as age, the eye condition which needs to be treated, any history or present medical conditions determine whether a patient can have laser eye treatment or otherwise.

Patients, especially women, are advised not to wear any eye makeup before the actual treatment. People who wear contact lenses will also be advised not to wear them for a certain period of time before an exam by the eye doctor will be carried out to properly evaluate the condition of the eyes of the patient. Your eye doctor will be able to give you more specifics of what you should and should not do before having laser eye treatment.

What to Expect during the Procedure

Patients undergoing laser eye treatment are given a medication which will help them relax. Eye drops containing a local anaesthetic are also administered throughout the treatment, ensuring that everything is as comfortable as possible. The eyes of the patient are cleansed, and a drape or cover is placed so that the eyelashes do not interfere with the whole procedure.

Most of the time, laser eye treatment takes about 15 minutes per eye, and some doctors and patients prefer to have both eyes treated at the same time. There are some cases, depending on your eye doctor and your current condition, wherein only one eye is treated at a time. The procedure is considered an outpatient treatment, so no confinement in a hospital is necessary.

What to Expect after the Procedure

The most uncomfortable part of having laser eye treatment comes after the procedure is finished. Some of the patients experience a burning, itchy sensation in their eyes. Some experience having blurred vision, as if they were looking at a room full of smoke. Complete the follow up schedules with your eye doctor to ensure that the side effects you are experiencing are only temporary. The eye doctor may also prescribe medicines as needed to help in lessening the discomfort caused after having laser eye treatment. Laser treatments can also be used for patients with diabetic retinopathy, as well as treatment for macular degeneration. Discuss with your eye doctor the ins and outs of having laser surgery for your eyes and find out if it is the right treatment for you.

Eye Health and Laser Eye Surgery

macular degeneration

When it comes to eyes there are a few problems that can occur. Often these problems arise as we age, but some are quite preventable. Looking after our eyes is important throughout our life as failing eye sight can be a real blight on our lives. There are some lifestyle factors that can affect our eye health. Smokers and those with poor diets for example are more likely to have things wrong with their eyes as they get older. This article will outline all the ways we can help keep our eyes strong and healthy the natural way. Also here in this article will be information about laser eye surgery. Sometimes there is no option or alternative to surgery in order to correct a problem with the eyes. Here you will be able to read about this too.

Living a healthy life will ensure our eyes have the best chance of staying healthy. This means you should not smoke, you should limit alcohol and you should eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. This is usually the advice for keeping any health related problem at bay and with the eyes it is no different. Although it may even seem strange, getting regular exercise can also help. It is an indirect help – if you exercise your body will be strong and healthy. If your body is strong and healthy then so will your eyes be.

Our eyes are under increasing strain as the years progress. Staring at computer screens and televisions for hours on end can cause them to be a bit sore. Have you ever had tired or puffy looking eyes? That could be your eyes’ way of telling you that they need a bit of a break. If you think you are suffering from eye strain then you should take frequent breaks from whatever activity you are doing. You can try a few exercises such as closing your eyes for 10 seconds at a time every now and again. You can also make them follow the hands of an imaginary clock on the wall in front if you want to give them a good workout!

Unfortunately eye problems can occur regardless of measures taken. When we age our eyes can degenerate which can lead to worsening eye sight and other serious problems. Often there is only one solution and that is surgery. Laser eye surgery is becoming a common and popular way to correct a host of problems. Cataract surgery in particular is on the rise. This is a painless and quick procedure that replaces the hardened and cloudy lens of the eye with an artificial one. The results are instant and a person’s sight will be restored. Laser eye surgery can also be used to reshape the cornea which can correct several problems. Glaucoma occurs when there is not enough space in the eye for fluid to pass. This can either be because of a narrow canal or it can be because the canals have been blocked. Sometime eye drops will help if the problem is due to a blockage.

When there is simply not enough space in the eye channel for the fluid to pass, then surgery is the only answer. Glaucoma is a very serious condition and if not treated the pressure that builds up in the eye can cause blindness. Laser eye surgery has restored the sight of millions of people around the world suffering from conditions such as glaucoma and cataracts.

If you think you may have a problem with your eyes then you should seek medical assistance. Laser eye surgery is available for a host of conditions and works as an effective cataract treatment. It can also work as treatment for macular degeneration and glaucoma. In order to avoid surgery altogether you should ensure you look after your eyes from a young age.

Laser Eye Surgery ? What to Expect

macular degeneration

Laser eye surgery is increasingly becoming the preferred method to treat a number of vision impairments. According to the ASCRS (American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery), 93% of the people undergoing this operation are satisfied with the outcome. While 95% said their vision had improved, 85% claimed that the quality of their life had improved after the surgery. The leading causes of visual impairment in the UK are cataract and AMD, or age-related macular degeneration.

Laser Eye Surgery: Procedure
The procedure for laser eye surgery is fast and virtually painless. You can choose to have one eye operated at a time or both eyes at the same time. Before the surgery commences, you will be given three eye drops. One of these would be to anesthetise your eye, the second would be to prevent infection and there would be one to control inflammation following the surgery. The operation would be performed while you lie back comfortably in a special chair underneath the laser microscope. An eyelid speculum or eyelid clip may be used to prevent you from blinking during the surgery. Although this sounds harsh, it is not painful.

With the eye drops taking effect, you will not be able to see the surgery being performed. This prevents you from involuntarily blinking on seeing an instrument coming close to your eye. You would be looking into the laser microscope and will be able to see a red or green light. You will need to focus on this light through the surgery. While the surgeon controls the laser, the computer makes precise calculations based on the condition of your eye or type of treatment, like cataract treatment.

The surgery begins with the doctor using an eximer laser to shape your cornea. You may hear a continuous popping or clicking sound. This is from the laser and is quite normal. The actual laser eye surgery may take anywhere between 30 and 60 seconds, depending on your eye condition.

The laser used to reshape your cornea will contain two wavefront platforms: ‘wavefront optimised’ and ‘wavefront corrected’. Your surgeon will choose the most suitable for your eyes and will adjust the laser as necessary.

There is no requirement for stitches in this procedure.

Laser Eye Surgery: What to Expect After the Procedure
Your eye may be covered with a pad for up to 24 hours. You will be in no condition to drive. So, it is advisable to make appropriate arrangements to get home. While your eye pad is on, you may feel some discomfort. If there is any pain following your laser eye surgery, you may ask your doctor to prescribe you appropriate painkillers. After the pad is removed, your vision may remain blurry for a few hours. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about. Your vision will gradually improve and in some cases your vision could continue to become clearer over a month. However, typically it takes about a week to ten days to realise the complete benefits of the laser eye surgery.

You may be given eye drops to prevent infection and aid the healing process. The eye drops should be applied diligently. It is a good idea to wear sunglasses whenever you step out, since your eyes may be very sensitive for at least a month after the surgery.

When looking for a private eye hospital in the UK, search the internet for specialist providers of ophthalmic services. Make sure that they have state-of-the-art surgical equipment (they should have this information on their website). Also, you will want to review the bios of their doctors and surgeons to make sure that they have leading ophthalmic surgeons to carry out the laser eye surgery procedures. There should be a list of the treatments available too, such as cataract treatment and guidance on the different methods of dealing with macular degeneration.

Can sunglasses prevent laser eye surgery?

macular degeneration

Sunglasses are usually thought of as just a fashion accessory, but in fact sunglasses are far more than this. Yes they do come in a range of styles, sizes and colours and of course many come with designer price tags, but they do fulfill another important role – that of protection from the sun. The eyes are an extremely delicate part of the body. They can become easily damaged when hit or poked or exposed continuously to the sun. Although you may not realise it, the sun constantly emits UV rays whether it’s sunny or cloudy that can do enormous damage if not protected against. We all know of the dangers of skin cancers caused by the sun, but how many consider the dangers to the eyes?

It is not direct sunlight itself that presents the danger, it is in fact reflection from the objects around. Light, sand and snow in particular can reflect up to 85% of UV rays into the eyes. The eyebrow works as a shield when directly facing the sign and a hat can also protect the eyes to a degree, but when you add reflected light into the equation, the protection is simply not enough. Good sunglasses are absolutely crucial during the summer and when near water or snow.

There are three types of UV radiation – UVA, UVB and UVC. UVC is absorbed the Earth itself so pose no threat to the health of our eyes. The same cannot be said for UVA and UVB however. UVB rays are absorbed by the eye and although do not travel as far as the retina located at the back of the eye, can affect the lens which can in turn cause or speed up the development of cataracts. UVA rays despite being absorbed in lesser qualities can penetrate the retina, and it is this that can cause macular degeneration. This is a very serious condition that if left untreated can cause blindness.

Although there is treatment available for these conditions in the form of laser eye surgery, prevention is always better than cure. Investing in a good pair of sunglasses is the best course of action you can take today to protect your eyes tomorrow. It is imperative that you purchase glasses that protect against both UVA and UVB rays and be aware that just because a pair of glasses does say this on the label, it is not necessarily true. Cheap glasses in particular are unlikely to provide the adequate protection you need to shield your eyes from the sun. If you are unsure on what to buy then talk to an optician who will be able to advise you on what you need and where to purchase the right kind of glasses.

Further to wearing sunglasses (and a hat can’t hurt either), you should eat plenty of green vegetables which also help your eyes stay strong. If you stare at a computer screen all week then some simple eye exercise should also be carried out every now and again. These can be as simple as covering one eye, then the other, or pretending there is a clock on the wall in front and looking at 12, 3, 6, and 9 in both directions.

The news is not all bad however when it comes to eye health. Laser eye surgery provides an excellent treatment to a host of conditions. When doctors are considering the options to help restore a person’s sight, a refractive lens exchange is one form of procedure that may be required, as is macular degeneration treatment. Protecting your health now will pay dividends later, but if you are suffering from a condition of the eye then there is help available.

Laser Liposuction is Ideal

The most recent method premeditated to ease the soreness, bulge, and contusion that is normally familiar with traditional liposuction remedy is recognized as laser liposuction surgery, the newest lipoplasty method in Europe.

In a traditional liposuction, extorted from distinct locations of the body are extra fat build ups.  By means of little cuts, stainless tubes are placed into the body and suck out the greasy cells with a vacuum pump into a jug.

By way of directing a laser’s low-intensity waves onto the section of the body, laser liposuction surgery serves where tending is essential.  This laser energy infiltrate through the skin, the membrane of the cells that seize the fat deteriorates, and the fats in these cell’s walls trickle out.

As in the traditional way of liposuction, to suck out the alienated greasy cells, little cuts were all set for the stainless tubes called the cannulas to be placed in.   This will be carried out when the greasy cells have been broken and the cosmetic surgeon is definite that a lot of fat hoards have divided from the closest tissue and skin.  For extreme discomfort liberation, the power of the lasers is returned to low-dilution.  Thereafter, for the final course of laser liposuction operation, the laser is rearrange over again for anti-aggressive and anti-bulges.  This notably deteriorates the mildness after the operation.  To conclude the lane of soreness supervision, it may possibly take up to two days.

Laser liposuction surgical treatment on a woman’s body is largely useful at the thighs, knees, abdomen, and hips.  On men, the most numerous are at the neck, upper arms, flanks, and the abdomen.  The benefits of laser liposuction surgery when assessed to the traditional tumescent and ultrasonic-assisted liposuction will evidently take place.  The laser assisted method will obtain a short recuperation time while, on the contrary, the two methods, the traditional tumescent and ultrasonic-assisted liposuction, commonly needs a long recuperation period.   The bulge and contusion lessens spectacularly on LAL method when put side by side to traditional methods of liposuction which are regularly related with this cosmetic surgical operation.

Some sort of recommendation after operation of painkillers for patients in general is not necessary.  To get rid of the sweat glands from the armpit to reduce sweating without any unfavorable cause on the natural cooling course of the body can also be applied on laser liposuction operation.  A board certified cosmetic plastic surgeon must be consulted and should talk about the perils and advantages of undergoing liposuction operation.  To be a candidate, he must be physically healthy.

Laser liposuction would be trendiest technique to get slimmer and is likely to be particularly worthwhile

Laser liposuction, or sometimes called lipoplasty or merely lipo is really a process to eliminate extra fat from specific components in the physique. Common locations exactly where lipo surgery is carried out consist of the belly, calves, arms, back & neck.

There are a number of techniques to carry out liposuction surgery, nonetheless in its most base form a pipe manufactured from chrome steel is inserted in the area to be treated. The cannula is set up to a highly effective vacuum machine. Parts in the junk cells being literally sucked out. Immediately after the process, the surrounding components will fold into the removed components ending in weight-loss and a fitter contour.

Generally a substance is injected inside the area to become treated to loosen or liquefy the extra fat just before removal. You’ll find numerous distinct methods mentioned below. Variations exist between the quantity of liquid to be treated.

Dry liposuction treatment is the original liposuction treatment and uses no liquid whatsoever. It’s not in use right now simply because of blood loss and a greater threat for complications .
Tumescent Liposuction treatment is probably the most frequent form of liposuction today. High doses of a solution of a local anesthetic called lidocaine along with a liquid to make the blood vessels smaller are injected directly within the excess fat. The primary advantage of this technique is which is carried out under only nearby anesthesia. The down facet is the large quantity of lidocaine employed: this can result in licodaine positing if used on a significant area .

Damp liposuction procedures is exactly where a small quantity of solution is injected in to the body fat. This amount is much less than the quantity of body fat to become removed. The answer consists of a local anesthetic, saline to reduce bruising, and adrenaline to constrict blood vessels. The solution is injected to loosen the excess fat cells, that are suctioned out with the cannula. Super wet lipo surgery is really a method that uses a similar answer as with damp lipo surgery. Nonetheless larger amounts of answer are injected, concerning the exact same quantity since the quantity of fats to become removed. This method is favored for huge volume removal. Often the individual gets IV anesthesia additionally for the regional anesthetic in the answer.

Ultrasonic Assisted Laser liposuction is a method that uses tumescent fluid in combination with a special cannula. The cannula sends out ultrasound vibrations. People tiny vibrations liquefy the surrounding tissue. This method is usually utilized on additional strong or fibrous places like the upper back again. Vaser Liposuction procedures is a more modern type of technique that uses ultrasound vibrations. It has much less risks of problems in comparison with conventional Ultrasonic Assisted Lipo. Energy Assisted Liposuction procedures is another model of UAL. On this situation the cannula mechanically moves around in possibly a pulsating or rotating fashion. This helps make the procedure simpler for that surgeon, since she or he does not have to manually move the cannula as a lot.

Threat As with any surgery there is a risk of problems. The risk raises with size from the treated area along with the amount of body fat eliminated. As usually discuss your private situation with a certified doctor prior to starting treatment. Ensure that to mention any treatment you might be taking.

Laser Eye Treatment And Other Types of Eye Surgery

wet macular degeneration

There are a number of different types of eye surgeries. When one thinks of eye surgery it is common for laser eye surgery to spring to mind. This is the most common elective surgery found anywhere in the world, but it is not the only surgery available for the eye. Sight problems can be very problematic. There are naturally occurring refractive errors that can hinder vision and there are several eye diseases that can lead to partial or even complete blindness when no treatment is received. There are also some cosmetic problems that can occur with eyes. Although they may not seriously hamper vision, they can be unsightly and can eat away at a person’s self confidence. This article acts as a guide to some of the different eye surgeries available.

Common cosmetic eye problems that can be corrected with surgery include:

Watering Eye

This can be caused by either foreign items in the eye or a serious case of conjunctivitis. It can also be caused when the drainage canal in the eye becomes blocked up. In the case of a blocked drainage canal, surgery known as dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) will be performed which will create a new tear duct for more effective drainage.

Eyelid Ptosis

The more common name for this condition is hooded eyelids. These can become so severe that part of the pupil gets covered and eyesight is impaired. By undertaking surgery to shorten the muscle that is used to raise the lid and then tightening up the skin crease, the hooded lid can be treated effectively.

Eyelid Ectropian

This is the sagging of the lower eyelid. It can be a totally naturally occurring condition or it can be caused following a trauma to the eye. Surgery can correct this unsightly condition and return the eye to a more natural state. During the surgery the eyelid is shortened and tightened and some small stitches are made in the corner of the eye which are removed a couple of weeks later.

Eyelid Entropion

This is a little like the condition described above except instead of the lower lid turning outwards, it starts to turn inwards. This also can either be a natural consequence of aging or it can result from a trauma. The method required to fix this condition is similar to the one described above.

As well as eye surgeries available to correct cosmetic conditions as described above, there is also laser eye surgery available. This can be used to either correct refractive errors such as myopia and hyperopia, but it can also be undertaken to treat eye diseases such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. There are several types of laser eye surgery. LASIK surgery is the most common type. It is quick to carry out and recovery is just a couple of days. LASEK eye surgery takes a little longer to recover from so it is not carried out generally unless absolutely necessary. It is suitable for people with thin corneas.

As well as laser eye treatments such as these, there is another type of eye surgery available known as a refractive lens exchange. This is a good alternative to laser eye treatment and is designed for the over 50′s. Instead of making an incision and lifting back the front flap of the eye to get at the cornea with a laser, ultrasound technology is used to break up the lens of the eye and replace it with an artificial one. This can correct refractive errors easily and because the lens is the part of the eye where cataracts develop, the secondary benefit is cataracts can never form. This is very beneficial considering the vast majority of people in their 70′s suffer from cataracts.

laser eye treatment is available for many refractive problems and diseases of the eye. It is an effective dry and wet macular degeneration treatment as well as glaucoma surgery. Laser vision correction surgery is not the only surgery available for the eyes however as there is also a refractive lens exchange for replacing the lens of the eye and a host of cosmetic procedures to treat conditions such as watery eyes or hooded eyelids. If you would like to find out more about one or more eye treatments available, contact your nearest eye hospital for further information.

ANALYTICAL OVERVIEW OF LASER LIPOSUCTION TECHNIQUE IN CHICAGO

Liposuction, aka liposculpture suction or simply lipo is a unique form of cosmetic surgery that eradicates fat from various parts of human body. Areas where liposuction may be done can range from the abdomen, knees, thighs and buttocks, to the face, chin, neck, backs of the arms and elsewhere.

There have been several claims that 22.7 kg or 50 pounds of body fat has been separated by liposuction methods. But the contouring achievable with liposuction techniques may result in the appearance of weight loss to be bigger than the actual quantity of body fat detached. This process may be carried out with the help of general or local anesthesia. The safety of the liposuction technique depends not only on the extent of fat detached, but also on the patient’s in general health and the selection of anesthetic used. The patient must be as healthier as possible before the liposuction process and must not have smoked in recent times. There are many factors which restrict the quantity of body fat which may be safely isolated in a liposuction session. Finally, the decision is taken by the patient himself and the operating doctor.

Laser liposuction and fat removal is a smart and advanced way to attain brilliantly contoured aesthetic results. It provides the least degree of surgery related complications and discomfort. If the patient has no contraindications like a delivery within the recent three months or pregnancy, hernia, a major systemic illness, Crohn’s disease, or lidocaine / allergy to epinephrine, he / she can undergo laser liposuction technique. Unnecessary fat can be eliminated and inelastic or loose skin can be tightened in the areas including knees, chin, back, neck, upper arms, hips, male breasts, saddle bags, Mons pubis and abdomen.

It’s great for the citizens of Chicago that there are a many good centers that excel in laser liposuction in Chicago. Laser liposuction scores over other traditional liposuction techniques in terms of its dual feature- one that reduces fat and the other tightens skin. The laser liposuction plastic surgeon can thereby shift from one combination to another, relying on the skin quality and type of body the patient posses. No other traditional liposuction method has such an excellent feature. Laser liposuction process can be carried out in the plastic surgeon’s office while the patient is put under local anesthesia. It is somewhat safer than the general anesthesia.

Using the smart and advanced hand piece delivery solutions, the plastic surgeon performing the laser liposuction process can ensure safety, accuracy, control and reliability of results. Thus the degree of heat that patients receive to melt the fat is directed by the operating physician depending upon the capability of the patient. Thermister is yet another magnificent feature of advanced laser liposuction techniques.

Results from the laser liposuction and fat deduction technique would be visible in less than about 6 months. These results can be permanent if the patients keep exercising and maintain a balanced diet. People of Chicago can say goodbye to painful plastic surgery techniques, and prolonged time period for recovery.

Liposuction : VASER, Laser, Tumescent Liposuction Overview

Laser Liposuction / SMART Lipo

Liposuction is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures worldwide by certified cosmetic plastic surgeons. The three most commonly performed techniques are the tumescent or superwet liposuction, Ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty and Laser or SMART Liposuction. The tumescent or super-wet technique requires an infusion of saline solution mixed with adrenaline to facilitate the aspiration or removal of excess fat. Ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty uses ultrasonic energy that liquefies the fat prior to surgical suctioning. While Laser or SMART liposuction is quite similar with ultrasound assisted technique in which fats is initially dissolve and then aspirated. There was a sudden increase in demand for SMART/Laser liposuction and Ultrasound lipoplasty when this was introduced in the market because it was believed to have more superior results than the traditional method. However, in our experience, the advantage that Laser Liposuction offers patients are improved pain control after surgery and body swelling is significantly less compared to the traditional tumescent technique. With regards to the result, all the 3 techniques are just the same. There is no superiority of one method over the other in attaining a pleasing body contour.

Whether the procedure will be performed as an Out-Patient or as a hospital procedure, preoperative laboratory and medical clearance (For patient 40 y/o and above, Medical condition that required treatment) is required. This is done a day before the surgery. The procedure can be performed either under local anesthesia or deep sedation depending on the extent of the procedure. After the procedure, incision site will soak for 2 to 3 days and eventually dries on the 4th to 5th day. All patients are instructed to strictly apply or wear pressure garments for 2 to 3 weeks at all body parts addressed by liposuction. The pressure garment will help the skin redrape to underlying muscles thus obliterating the space left after aspirating the fat and also control the swelling. This will assist and enhance the healing process. Sutures are removed on the 7th or 9th day after surgery.

Patients are always advised that there will be swelling and some bruising after the surgery. This is temporary and may resolve after 1 to 2 weeks. The initial result may be noted after 2 to 4 weeks since much of the swelling had subsided. However, the final result will be appreciated by the 2nd to 6th month after surgery. Patients are advised to avoid the following for 2 to 3 weeks before surgery; smoking, alcoholic beverages, steroids, NSAIDs or pain medications like mefenamic acids and naproxen, herbal tea, herbal medications, Vitamin E, blood thinning medications like aspirin, heparin and coumadin, regulated drugs like valium, prohibited drugs like methamphetamines, diet pills and oral contraceptive pills. These medications and social activity may delay healing, prolong bleeding during surgery and may interact with the medications used during surgery. It is advised that patients discuss this further with their surgeon to minimize possible risks and complications.

Patients planning to have this procedure will be required to allot 8 to 14 days for the initial consultation, laboratory, medical clearance, surgery, follow up, suture removal and early recuperation. After this, the patient is safe to travel since all wounds are already dry and healed. Cosmetic Philippines staff will explain in detail the risks associated with surgery. You will be asked to sign consent forms to ensure that you fully understand the procedure you will undergo and any risks or potential complications.

The practice of medicine and surgery is not an exact science. Although good results are expected, there is no guarantee. In some situations, it may not be possible to achieve optimal results with a single surgical procedure. Another surgery may be necessary. The decision to have liposuction is extremely personal and you’ll have to decide if the benefits will achieve your goals and if the risks and potential complications are acceptable.

What are Water Jet Laser Assisted Liposuction Tumescent Liposuction Methods

For many years, we have been hearing about “Laser liposuction procedures” “ultrasound” liposuction treatment, “Smart” liposuction treatment, and now “Water assisted Laser Liposuction”! Any smart marketer could think up these: that their procedure was “smart, advanced, and of course “modern” To those of us who have been doing this for several years, it’s just another bad joke. Each one of these procedures involve a 0.000 plus machine. None of them has ever been proven safer, more efficient or produce far better recoveries than experienced plastic surgeons using “tumescent” technique. Here’s what “tumescent technique” is and exactly how it developed. Initially, fat was suctioned that has a sort of open-tipped instrument and removed. The loss of blood with this was too high, so in 1987 the first clinical paper about liposuction using large volumes of local anaesthetic was published. Ever since then the procedure was refined and standardized, and now generally just a little of blood is lost with the modern day tumescent liposuction. Plastic surgeons performing variations of liposuction surgeies need to inform potential clients about the merits of the prescribed liposuction procedure. And then present some sort of scientific and or result qualifications that they have directly contributed or performed. The claim for the “new” technologies is: less hemorrhaging, less pain, less recovery, and far better results. No study has ever proven this! In clinical science, the way in which we try and find out if medicines or technique works involves taking groups of patients and comparing them with other groups who receive another kind of drug or treatment. Such studies, if performed properly, might help us understand if treatments really work or are simply fancy sugar pills or “placebos”. Laser liposuction, vaser, water jet, or “smart” liposuction has never been shown to work any far better than our tumescent liposuction, with which we now have so much experience. In fact, many of these techniques are most often riskier or at the minimum produce scarring in the fat. This might make correction associated with a problems or complications more challenging. The laws from the state of California say that advertising a medical or medical method is superior is prohibited unless it’s really true which enables it to be demonstrated scientifically.

Anyone who says water jet liposuction treatment, laser liposuction techniques, or “smart” liposuction is superior to ordinary liposuction is breaking the law. Complaints may be forwarded to the Healthcare Board of California and the Board will take proper action against the offender. The water jet liposuction techniques, particularly has had a great deal of advertising hype, both in the conferences along with their advertising. Clinical techniques are usually taught by physicians and cosmetic surgeons free or at minimal cost. This technique, alternatively has had an expensive training fee attached, in an attempt to profit not only from the patients but from the physicians… The people who have been promoting this “technology” have been a sort of standing joke at the medical meetings. Buyer beware, caution. There’s no replacement for experience and this technology has been in existence only a year or two, and anyone who claims they are able to buy a machine and become an expert through the use of the technology rather than medical experience is not as a cosmetic surgeon of choice giving justice to their clientele.
